    For almost a year now, writer and blogger Shreve Stockton has been posting daily pictures of a young coyote, Charlie, who she cares for in a small town in Wyoming.

    Most people know cuteness when they see it, but can’t describe what attributes actually make something Ultra Kawaii. However, scientists who study visual signaling think they have the cute code cracked! They say that humans respond to things that signal the following:

    • Vulnerability
    • Harmlessness
